Because of his facial features like blue eyes and deep voice, Swedish-French actor Max von Sydow had always been seen as one of the ideal stars to play the villain. However, he himself refused to be typecast and previously explained that he wanted parts that would give him variety.
At 90, Von Sydow, the only Swedish star to have earned an Academy nod, passed away in March 2020, his producer wife announced. Many fans would recognize him for playing Father Merrin in the iconic horror The Exorcist, the chess player in The Seventh Seal, and the raven in the hit show Game of Thrones.
