Paul Newman – Lung Cancer

A-lister Paul Newman, known for his dreamy blue eyes and a long list of acting credits that included The Hustler and his last voice work Cars, passed away in September 2008 at his farm. A year before his death, the actor downplayed rumors that he was sick and sought treatment, but his friend AE Hotchner revealed he was battling lung cancer.

Newman, who died at 83, was a former chain smoker but decided to quit the vice in 1986. Nonetheless, he was also famous for his philanthropic deeds as all proceeds from his salad line go to charity.
