Christopher Pettiet – Drug Overdose

Another child star who was gone too soon was Christopher Pettiet, who appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Doogie Howser, M.D., and L.A. Law. His biggest acting credits were The Young Riders, where he played Jesse James and Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead as Zach Crandell.

In 2000, Pettiet, whose last acting credit was Judging Amy in 1999, died when he was just 24 because of an accidental drug overdose. It was said that his demise was also because of probable cardiomyopathy, although the condition was said to be only a contributing factor.
