William Hague – $6.7 million
While they earn above-average wages, politicians don’t really become millionaires off of their public service. Take former Conservative Party leader William Hague, for example. He reportedly built a $6.7 million fortune through public speaking, writing books, and providing advisory services to businesses.
According to reports, he brings in $35K per speaking engagement and owns a collection of properties valued in the millions. Hague also found his social status elevated when he was made a life peer in 2015 and became Lord Hague of Richmond. Last we heard, he was announced as the new chair of The Royal Foundation in 2020.
