The Captured Dictator, Resigned To His Fate
It’s rare that we get to see scenes in history such as this. What you’re looking at is the exact moment Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was captured by American forces in 2003. After a nine-month chase, he was found in a tiny underground bunker near his hometown, Tikrit.
According to one of the soldiers present during his arrest, Hussein surprisingly did not resist and seemed “resigned to his fate.” He was executed in 2006 after facing trial. However, no weapons of mass destruction were ever found in Iraq after his death.
