The Outcome
Felicia was a bit restless, which is common in mares about to deliver. She was, however, in pain, and this often requires immediate attention. So, it appeared Ben was on the right track in terms of the decisions he had made so far. He and his friend had to clear the stables slowly so as not to aggravate the horse.
The vet prepared the medication to be used and waited until the stable was clear. Once Ben and his friend were out, the horse was sedated with the medication. Now they could go to work on determining what exactly was wrong with Felicia and her foal.
