What Friends Are For
Pessimists tend to view the natural world as a violent and loveless one. But the truth is much more complicated. While animals such as fishes don’t share many of our best human traits, they do know that sticking together is the best way to go ahead in life. In fact, many species of fishes swarm together in a shoal for social reasons!
The biggest advantage of shoaling is that fishes get to be more protected from predators. And as you can see, fish shoals (also known as schools) make for a quite impressive scene! The heart of that scuba diver must’ve been racing!
