Saluki – Shy, Gentle, And Loyal
The Saluki breed is one of the oldest sighthounds selling for between $2,000 and $2,500 each. They’re super fast and strong-willed, calling for a lot of exercise. It’s recommended that you have a large yard allowing your Saluki to run at full pace to get their daily exercise. Salukis are great jogging and running companions. Most make good watchdogs but are not as aggressive as a guard dog.
Most owners find Salukis trainable, but if they’re distracted or disinterested, there’s no getting past their will, so don’t expect perfect obedience. A Saluki becomes emotionally attached to their owner, which means they don’t like being left alone.
