Dogo Argentino – Playful Protector With High Energy
Dogo Argentino was bred explicitly by Argentine, Antonio Nores Martínez for big game hunting. These large, muscular dogs favored for wild boar hunts were bred from the Cordoba Fighting Dog in 1928. The breed emerged by crossing breeds like the Great Dane, Great Pyrenees, and Dogue de Bordeaux using selective breeding.
Dogo Argentinos originally hunted in packs, which makes them extremely social pets. They’re incredibly protective of their family and need socializing and training from a young age to make them safe around strangers and other animals. Puppies start at around $2,500 while certain bloodlines can sell for $5,000 or more.
