Santa Comes Early For The Royal Family
While the rest of the world is still waiting on Santa Claus to come down their chimney with presents, the royal family has already opened theirs. You see, it’s a tradition for royals to unwrap Christmas gifts at tea time on Christmas Eve as opposed to the following day.
Reader’s Digest traces this custom to Germany, where kids would get their gifts at nightfall. It makes sense though considering the busy morning the royal family has on actual Christmas day. While other families stay in, they head out to attend mass together at St. Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.
