Woodrow Wilson & Edith Bolling Galt – 1915
The 28th POTUS, Woodrow Wilson, was unfortunately widowed from his first marriage to Ellen Axson. However, the second time was the charm as it was a lifelong marriage that lived up to the words “until death do us part.” His second wife was none other than Edith Wilson, who became the First Lady of the nation only two years after marrying him.
As for Wilson, it was Edith’s second walk down the aisle as well. Edith chose a black velvet dress with a matching hat decorated with goura (feathers), according to White House History. The couple did not have any children together.
