Mountain On A Woodstock Stage
Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi, and Steve Knight launched individual musical careers on their own. When they came and played together, they decided they would make up an iconic band and went on to name their group Mountain. The name was after West’s solo album. Out of their many gigs, their performance at Woodstock turned out to be the most memorable.
Although the group did not hold much prominence to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Joe Cocker at that time, the crowd of around half a million enjoyed their musical treat. Mountain is among the bands credited for spreading and developing the influence of heavy metal music.
