Terrence McNally – COPD
Terrence McNally, a Tony Award winner, lost his life in March 2020 to COVID-19 at the age of 81. Admitted at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital, he survived lung cancer in the ’90s but spent the rest of his life managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
McNally is remembered for appearances in Love! Valor! Compassion!, Ragtime, and the Spider Woman. In 1996 he made it into the American Theater Hall of Fame. His list of accolades also includes the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Awards, two Guggenheim Fellowships, an Emmy, and four Drama Desk Awards.
