Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
For its alleged less-than-favorable portrayal of the South-East Asian kingdom, Cambodia banned the public screening of Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The decision was later described as “childish” by a local distribution company, especially since the film was a huge hit in other parts of the world, bringing in $261 million in less than a month after its release.
The film follows a joint operation of American and British spy organizations as they hunt down the secret base of a drug kingpin. The base, as it’s later revealed, is located in the jungles of Cambodia and is the picturesque setting for a final showdown between the two warring sides.
