Mad Max (1979)
Thanks to its incredibly gory and violent sequences, Mad Max ended up being banned in New Zealand and Sweden. After the release of its sequel, though, the ban was lifted in New Zealand in the following years.
Fans and audiences were shell shocked at one particular scene in the movie which, along with anti-social behavior and violence, led to its ban in the two countries. The disturbing scene shows Jim Goose burning alive inside a car following a motoring accident. The film illustrates a not-too-distant future where the world is in chaos and countries are at war for oil, which is running out fast.
