No Trees there!
If you plan to travel towards the mighty Antarctic, it would be better to pack some of the essential herbs and food you might need to survive. One would ask, why? It turns out that the Antarctic is a barren land, meaning that there are no trees or fields. All you’ll find are only two different flowering species.
The reason behind this is the low temperatures and thin soil layers which are entirely frozen. Hence, it hampers any root development. But it hasn’t always been like that as scientists have recently found remnants of the temperate forest that thrived in the continent nearly ninety-million years ago!
