No Non-Natives Allowed
Climate change is already making it hard for numerous native species to survive in the Antarctic continent. That is probably why, since the ’90s, no non-native species can be taken to the mainland. Experts believe that the non-native species could have numerous environmental, financial, and several other irreversible impacts on the region.
But scientists also maintain that with these changes happening at a breakneck pace, such species’ establishment is expected to increase as the Antarctic temperatures rise. So, it puts a responsibility on all of us to collectively fight this state.
