Houses The South Pole
The Earth’s fifth-largest continent covers the South Pole in its entirety. It is quite different from its counterpart, North Pole, in the sense that the region has land to walk on as opposed to the Northern part, where the entire area is a giant ice surface that is floating on the Arctic Ocean.
It is easy to believe that Antarctica has any weather other than winters, but it does have summers too! In the sunny season, the area gets plenty of sunlight due to the Earth’s proximity to the sun, but in colder months, the continent gets no sun at all.
