Get Your Amish Computer Here
While they don’t easily take on new technology, exceptions have been made. But there was also once an attempt to market a computer to the Amish. The computer was called a Deskmate and was basically marketed around every attribute the computer didn’t have.
The most prominent non-features were no music programs, no video capabilities, and no internet functionality. The computer did word processing and have spreadsheets, perfect for keeping track of harvesting stats and other Amish business dealings. The only problem with this computer is that an Amish person could easily find the same functionality in an ’80s PC.
